A Just Peace

A Just Peace is a growing ministry within the local community through CWUMC that seeks to raise awareness, educate about, advocate for, and raise urgently-needed support for Palestinians in their struggle, towards Palestinian liberation, as well as restoration and protection of their basic human rights. In keeping with Christ's call to stand with the oppressed and marginalized in this world and to work to liberate those held captive by unjust social structures, A Just Peace offers monthly events that highlight Palestinian voices, provide guests with access to local action, as well as fundraising for our chosen non-profit, Gaza Soup Kitchen.

Education and awareness

Through monthly presentations and Q&A’s with Palestinian voices, we invite you to learn more from a different perspective. We have heard from voices such as Dr. Mazin Qumsiyeh (founder of Palestinian Institute of Biodiversity), Hani Almadhoun (Found of Gaza Soup Kitchen and Director of Philanthropy for UNRWA USA, and have screened award winning films such as No Other Land.

Local Action, support, and advocacy

Through a network of advocacy groups, we have created a space where people can find ways to get involved

Fundraising

Through our 3 events in 2025, we have raised over $5,000 for Gaza Soup Kitchen and have 7 more scheduled throughout the year.

Through a grant from the United Methodist Church’s General Board of Church and Society, this ministry has been able to take flight.
